Personality Types

My wife came across this about a year ago and we both found it to be extrodinarily accurate for us, it is a website that helps you to discover and understand different aspects of your personality and is based off of the psycological types theory by Jung. Just a couple weeks ago I happened on a file stored one of my backup DVD's that contained various documents inwhich I had placed information I was sure to forget, only makes sense that by and by I would eventually lose the DVD. Anyway, one of the things on it was a chart that you can create on the website after you take this personality types test charting the aspects of your personality. Out of curiosity I posted this to my friends in facebook to see if they found it as interesting as we did. As it turns out everyone that took the test was amazed at the results. Its really fun to share with one another the out come of this test. I believe that if there is an interest in understanding people, whether friends or family, it has to start with being able to relate with them on some level of thier personality, if not at least acknowledgment of their feelings (which is no small thing). So, if you feel complelled, check it out! It really is pretty cool, just be as completely honest as you can, and put down what you really feel and not what you think you should feel.
Both Anne and myself are personality types INFP "the Dreamer" (that is Introvert, iNtuition, Feeling, Perceiving).
I have put a badge of the ratios that show this measured on my blog page, unfortunatly I could only get it to fit at the bottom of my blog and had no time to fuss with it since it is 12:00 in the morning. If you click on it though it will take you to a large easier to read version of it. These can be made on the website along with the code to post if you so wish it.
click here for the Personality Types test they also have one called the multiple intelligences test which goes along quite well with the personality types test, I highly recommend it, have fun!

Ron, you beat me to it. I was going to ask you for this link. I've been fascinated with the various personalities for a while and I wanted to check this out after you told me about it.

I won't have time to do it today but I will and I'll let you know the results.

Our daughter's college used the Meyer's- Brigg's test to place roommates with each other. It is a great diagnostic tool. My daughter and I were both INFJ's. You're right; it's fascinating.

Aida,
I look forward to seeing what yours comes up as :-)

Jamie,
Man, I would have thought for sure you would be an "E" rather than an "I" LOL ;-), but I have read in a book we have that the actual percentage of introverts are more along the lines of 40%+ rather than 2% like the website says. Apparently, and I can understand the logic behind it, the world in general caters to and encourages extroversion, ergo many introverts feel the pressure to "swallow back their feelings" and try to appear extroverted. Don't take me wrong, I'm not implying you do that LOL, but I know I have often enough and its a shocking drain on my resourses. In fact most of the people I used to work with would be surprised that I am an introvert simply because of how I appeared in that atmosphere.

Ron, I just got home so I still haven't taken the test but a while back I read an article on introversion and later I read a book called The Introvert Advantage.

I had always thought of myself as an extrovert because I talk a lot at times and also I'm not shy around people and love to do public speaking. However, after I read the article, I was surprised to find out that I'm an introvert.

Understanding that has really set me free to be me. Now, I take my alone time without feeling guilty. At work, I always forced myself to eat lunch in the faculty break room even though all of that chatter annoyed me. Now, I feel free to eat in my classroom privately. Since this year, I’m with students all day, that 30 minutes of quiet is very refreshing.

As soon as I get a chance to take the test, I’ll let you know what the results are.

Aida,
Thats a funny thing, the book, "Introvert Advantage" just happens to be sitting on the arm of our couch with half a dozen book marks in it :-P !

Okay, I just did it and added a badge to the bottom of my blog. I'm an ISFJ (Defender). As soon as I saw the term defender or protector, I knew that was me. That personality sure sounds like me.

Hey Ron,
Thought you might find this link interesting:

http://www.personalitypage.com/INFJ.html

If you REALLY knew me, you would understand; INFJ's are intuitve protectors. I think the difference between extrovert and introvert that is misunderstood is not whether someone is articulate and comfortable in a group but where their source of self is found: in external conditions or internal. Read the link and you will know me like a book; it's scary!! :)

Cool.
I haven't seen one of those tests in a long time. I will have to take it again to remind myself of my type. :)
Do they have one labeled "Difficult" ? :)
